Transformable Walls
Innovation by Walltopia!
INVEST IN THE FUTURE!

Walltopia is the first and the only climbing wall manufacturer to make TRANSFORMABLE WALLS.

Prefabrication technology
Walltopia climbing walls are fully pre-fabricated.

Every part of the climbing wall, including the steel structure and the climbing panels are made to exact design specifications at our factory. This makes installation faster and cleaner because it is only on-site assembly by professional Walltopia technicians. It also means the entire system can be disassembled and reassembled in another location.

Full color printing and painting

Besides providing the service of repainting and retexturing the coating of already built climbing walls, we can customize your wall with any picture or logo. Our Full Color Printing Technology can be done in any size on a flat surface of your climbing wall.
The image is highly durable, climbable, and adds a unique touch to your wall.

Autobelay installation and maintenance
Walltopia has developed its own hydraulic autobelays that can be mounted on and are applicable for walls 10m to 13m high. It is highly recommended that the initial autobelay installation is performed by a trained team of Walltopia professional technicians. Depending on the nature of each specific project Walltopia Hydraulic Autobelays can be mounted to a steel structure using Walltopia's mounting brackets or using custom made brackets. The autobelays can also be installed to a floor and/or existing wall using only Walltopia original brackets. We pay special care for each step of the installatiion process - from anchoring of the autobelay to davit installtion.

Types of Installation:

Testing
Walltopia performs load testing of the protection points of climbing walls as per the European standart for Artificial climbing walls EN 12572-1:2007 upon request.

Testing of the climbing wall is not compulsory but is strongly advised by the European standart. When tested in accordance to Annex F of EN 12572-1:2007, after settling under the load there shall be no breaking, tearing or destruction of the elements after testing.

These tests shall be used as a verification of good installation practice and shall not in any case replace the calculations, maintenance programme, inspection or other justification procedure. There is no requirement for future retesting of the climbing wall, after the first installation of the wall.

The first three protection points and the highest protection point of each climbing route are tested by applying force by at least 10 seconds. The test load is 8 kN.

In addition to individual protection points, all individual or collective top rope protection points, as well as any anchors for a stance shall be tested with an 8 kN load. This is valid for all the points designed to pass the rope through.

Collective top rope protection points undergo tests at the points of fixation, in the middle of each span and at the point where the load makes the greatest bending moment.

Dismantling and assembly
As part of the turn-key solutions Walltopia provides, all installation of artificial climbing walls are performed by highly specialized teams of assembly technicians working in accordance to the stipulations of the European standart EN 12572.

Due to the Prefabrication process employed by the company and the Transformable walls concept, all installations are fast and clean (there is no manufacturing on site). Flexibility in working shifts allows for ensuring the biggest economic benefit to our customers.

Holds Installation and route setting
Route setting

Route setting is the arranging of holds in a specified pattern which enambles the climber to achieve a desired level of difficulty in accordance to a specified system of difficulty rating. The routes can be defined by the level of difficulty which is determined by the specific selection of holds. The arrangement of holds and/or routes according to a level of route difficulty required by the client can be included in the offer as a supplementary service. Route setting with a certain level of difficulty is a skill that requires very good qualification. A route that is not set with the sufficient professional skills could endanger climbers by causing them to fall or swing into obstacles. It could also cause undue wear and/or damage to the climbing wall and/or to its components or to other climbing equipment. This is particulary relevant to the auto-belays that use cable for the security of the climbers. A rope or a cable that rubs against the holds or some other wall components because of the incorrect setting of a route used by the climbers, could contribute to the wear and untimely amortisation of the holds, the climbing wall and of the rope and cable themselves. Such untypical wear and amortisation are not covered by Walltopia limited warranty and thus proper route setting is crucial.

Holds installation

The positioning of holds on the climbing wall is not route setting. Walltopia always strives to install the climbing holds in a way so that the wall can be used by the preferred by the client target group of beginners or advanced climbers.

Training

Walltopia is proud to be a specialist both in the field of climbing as a sport as well as the business side of it such as successful operation of gyms. We are happy to share our knowledge and upon request we provide training in the following areas:

Inspection and maintenance

According to the European standard for artificial climbing structures EN 12572 there are three compulsory inspections as part of the ongoing maintenance process that every owner of a climbing facility should follow to ensure smooth and safe operation of the wall.

Regular visual inspections
Regular visual inspections (most likely for the climbing wall surface) allow the uncovering of apparent damages like: dirt, loose holds, unstable elements, wearing out, and hindrance in the climbing space. It is advisable to make the inspection weekly or even daily for climbing walls with frequent use or subject to possible vandalism.

Operative inspections
The operative inspection is a detailed review of the stability and right functioning of the artificial climbing structure and special attention must be paid to the protection points. If a protection point is loose, it is not permitted to use it again until it has been tightened and put to the right position. Changing parts, if necessary, should be done by the manufacturer. This inspection has to be done every 1 to 3 months.

Major annual inspections
The aim of the major annual inspection is to determine the condition and the security level of the artificial climbing wall structure. This requires a detailed inspection of the suppot structure, its foundation, attachment points (to the existing building), welds, bolts, protection points, the whole climbing surface, etc.
- All bolts must be checked and tightened
- Perform visual inspection of all welds - cracks are unacceptable
- Check all protection points - if a protection point is loose it must be tightened and placed in the right position
The major annual inspection must be performed by a qualified technical expert. It can include the dismounting of some elements from the climbing wall structure and following remounting in accordance to the manufacturer.

As a part of a longer warranty contracts Walltopia performs the annual inspection of the climbing wall. For all other cases we offer maintenance packages to suit all our customers.
