Remember our brave idea of gathering the whole climbing community at one place during the first World Indoor Climbing Summit (WICS)? Well, the idea turned out great and we are doing it again!

Bringing together some of the top indoor climbing experts from around the world was a challenge, but as the industry grows rapidly, it’s time for a broader and more strategic dialogue about the state of indoor climbing and emerging trends. WICS 2018 attracted 300 specialists and 17 exhibiting companies from 38 countries, and we anticipate WICS 2019 to be even larger, fostering further global collaboration and innovation in the climbing community.

While our focus has been on content and providing space for collaboration, last year’s feedback highlighted the value of networking with industry pioneers. Additionally, having most attendees as founders or CEOs positively influenced the dialogue. Participants appreciated the open and inclusive panel discussions, which allowed for diverse perspectives and kept the audience engaged. As a result, this year we continue to use panel discussions as the preferred format, ensuring an interactive and engaging environment for all attendees.

From an exhibitor’s perspective exhibiting companies shared that they could finally put a face to a name, getting to meet some of their customers for the first time at WICS. They see WICS as a smaller event but with a great audience of mostly decision-makers, which shortens the distance between retailer and gym manager.
