Walltopia delivered the climbing walls for NYC – New York Climbing, a bouldering facility in Elche, Spain, opened in 2025. The gym offers 467 sqm of climbing surface designed to support diverse movement styles and creative route setting.
The bouldering walls combine natural wood and solid white panels, creating a clean and distinctive visual identity while maintaining excellent functionality for setters. A thoughtful mix of textured and unsteppable panels introduces an additional design layer that challenges climbers to rely more on holds and precise movement rather than wall friction. This approach expands route-setting possibilities and encourages technical climbing. Climbmat boulder mats are taking care of the comfortable landings from the boulders and the cosy feel.
The facility is organized across two storeys, with the main bouldering areas located on the ground floor and a dedicated training area on the upper level, allowing athletes to focus on strength and progression in a dedicated space. The variety of wall angles—from vertical slabs to steep overhangs—offers climbers a wide range of styles and difficulty levels.
NYC – New York Climbing was designed to be welcoming to both beginners and experienced climbers, supporting a social and community-oriented climbing environment where different skill levels share the same space.
